Baby Weigh in Clinic

This Paignton Baby Weigh In Clinic used to be part of Thriving Child at the Beehive but has now moved to the upstairs room in Paignton Library.

This is a drop in Well Baby clinic run by our 0 to 19 Torbay health visiting team and takes place every Wednesday, 1:30pm – 3:30pm!

Developing Baby

This is a weekly group for parents with their babies (0-12 months) to attend and is based on offering specific advice and guidance for new parents.

Each week there will be a theme focused around your child’s development run by the family hub staff with breastfeeding peer supporters on hand to offer additional support.

No need to book. Just drop in!

The Children's Society - Wellbeing Drop-In

Please attend one of our Housing and Cost Of Living Surgeries running from family hubs across Torbay where you can speak to a Benefits Adviser and Housing Officer.

Supporting a solid start

Would you like additional support with starting your baby on solid food? If your baby is over 6 months old we are offering monthly sessions at Turning Heads in Torquay.

Supporting a Solid Start: For families who need support with introducing solid food to their baby. These are referral only monthly sessions for babies over 6 months old. There will be support provided from Community Nursery Nurses and food provided for babies to try. Talk to your health visiting team or contact our advice line on 0300 333 5352 to book your space.

Breastfeeding Peer Supporter Course

Our latest Breastfeeding Peer Support Training course launches in January 2025 and will cover 10 weeks.
Dates: 9th January 2025 – 20th March 2025
Time: 12.30pm – 2.30pm

This comprehensive and nationally recognised qualification will enable you to support parents in a variety of ways, and will cover key topics such as
* Physiology and Anatomy
*Communication Skills
*Practical Support Skills
If you are interested and would like to more, and have had previous breastfeeding experience (no matter how long ago), we would love to hear from you!
