Session 5/6
This course is run by the Educational Psychology team and is aimed at teaching assistants who are passionate about supporting children with their emotional wellbeing needs. The ELSA training programme provides TAs with the necessary knowledge, support and resources needed to deliver more individualised and in-depth social, emotional and mental health support to children and young people in school. Their work makes an important contribution to the targeted support your school offers as part of the graduated response.

This session is aimed at children aged 1 and over.
During the school holidays, we will run one these sessions within the community.

Peep supports all parents and carers with children from pregnancy to school, in encouraging their child’s learning and development. Bounce & Rhyme Wednesdays 11am at Torquay Library. A free event which encourages parents, grandparents, carers and guardians to meet at the library and spend time with others. Babies and adults join in with singing favourite nursery rhymes, using language and musical instruments plus sensory toys to help with their development.

If your child has not received their 2 year, 3 month Developmental and you have concerns about their speech, language and communication, we’d love to invite you to join our Speech and Language Group session.
These one-off sessions, lasting an hour and a half, are held at all our hubs and led by Early Years Support Workers.
They provide practical advice and guidance to help you support your child’s speech, language and communication skills.
