Can you help us?
We would love parents to help us improve training for Family Practitioners on how to talk to parents about money and give the right support. We will be running 3 workshops in Paignton and Torquay where you can help improve support for families in Torbay.

Would you like more information on when and how to start your baby on solid food? If so, come along to one of our drop in information sessions held each month at our Feed and Nurture Groups. A Community Nursery Nurse will be there with resources and to talk through the process. Please come along If you have any questions or worries about starting solids.

Understanding Your Child - Solihull Approach - Week 2

Understanding Your Child – Solihull Approach
10-week course starting on 6th of January from 10am-12pm.
(Please note that there is no session on 17th February due to half-term).
We may cover topics including:
– Feelings
– Importance of Play
– Effective Communication
– Developmental Needs
– Challenging Behaviour
– Sleep
Understanding Your Child is a course for all parents, grandparents and carers of children aged 6 months to 6 years.

Breathing Space Service - Drop-In Sessions for Birth Parents

A drop in session for parents who have experienced the removal of a child(ren) from their care, through court proceedings. Information, advice and support available.

If you have experienced child removal, come and meet the team.

An informal weekly drop in where you can have a cuppa, ask any questions, get help with form filling and phone calls and get advice and support.

When: Every Tuesday – 11am-1pm

Where: First Floor, Zig-Zags, 32 Market Street, Torquay

(Ring the bell when you arrive and we will come and meet you)

TorBaby Antenatal (Paignton - Week 2)

TorBaby Antenatal:

 

For Antenatal Mums 20+ weeks and their birth partners who live in Torbay.

 

The sessions cover:

– Helping your baby and you through pregnancy and birth.

– Getting to know your baby in the womb.

– You, your baby and the stages of labour.

– Helping you and your baby through labour and birth.

– Feeding your baby.

– Practical session, bathing, holding baby, changing a nappy and more.

    Session 4/6

    This course is run by the Educational Psychology team and is aimed at teaching assistants who are passionate about supporting children with their emotional wellbeing needs. The ELSA training programme provides TAs with the necessary knowledge, support and resources needed to deliver more individualised and in-depth social, emotional and mental health support to children and young people in school. Their work makes an important contribution to the targeted support your school offers as part of the graduated response.

    The themes of the group during term times will change weekly, with this order being followed:
    1. Exploratory Play
    2. Physical Fun
    3. Messy Play
    4. Explore a Story
    5. Yoga

    No need to book, just drop in.

    This session is aimed at children aged 1 and over.

    During the school holidays, we will run one these sessions within the community.

    We would love to hear some feedback on your experiences of the new group. When you attend, please speak to a member of staff to share your thoughts.
