Baby massage is a 4 week course for parents where you can learn how to massage different parts of your baby’s body. Massage can help your baby with the symptoms of colic, aid digestion and regulate their sleep.

The Children's Society - Wellbeing Drop-In

Developing Baby

This is a weekly group for parents with their babies (0-12 months) to attend and is based on offering specific advice and guidance for new parents.

Each week there will be a theme focused around your child’s development run by the family hub staff with breastfeeding peer supporters on hand to offer additional support.

No need to book. Just drop in!

Due to building works, Developing Baby at St Edmunds will be relocating to Zig Zags, 32 Market Street Torquay TQ1 3AQ 8JG from 5th November  – 17th December (1.30pm-2.30pm).

Small Steps

A group run by the Torbay Portage Service.

It is a small toddler group offered to parents and their children with special educational needs.

The aims of the group are

  • To give parents opportunities to meet one another and the Portage Home Visitors and for staff to get to know families and children.
  • For parents to be able to ask questions and share support ideas.
  • For children to be able to experience accessible play and learning experiences within a small group.
  • For staff members to share play and learning ideas to meet young children’s needs.

Session 1/6

This course is run by the Educational Psychology team and is aimed at teaching assistants who are passionate about supporting children with their emotional wellbeing needs. The ELSA training programme provides TAs with the necessary knowledge, support and resources needed to deliver more individualised and in-depth social, emotional and mental health support to children and young people in school.

    Parenting can be hugely rewarding but it can also be challenging especially if you think your child is unhappy or you are concerned about them and their behaviour.

    A Duty Family Support Worker will be available to provide support and advice on parenting.  We can provide advice on parenting including signposting to wider support services.

    Come along to chat with us and other parents & carers.
