Speech, Language and Communication Group

The Beehive Family Hub, Bishops Place, Paignton, TQ3 3DZ

If your child is aged 2 or under and you have concerns about their speech, language or communication, we’d love to invite you to join our Speech, Language and Communication Group session.

These one-off sessions, lasting an hour and a half, are held at all our hubs and led by Early Years Support Workers. They provide practical advice and guidance to help you support your child’s speech, language and communication skills.

TorBaby Antenatal (Paignton - Week 2)

TorBaby Antenatal:

 

For Antenatal Mums 20+ weeks and their birth partners who live in Torbay.

 

The sessions cover:

– Helping your baby and you through pregnancy and birth.

– Getting to know your baby in the womb.

– You, your baby and the stages of labour.

– Helping you and your baby through labour and birth.

– Feeding your baby.

– Practical session, bathing, holding baby, changing a nappy and more.

Baby Weigh In Clinic

This is a drop in Well Baby clinic run by our 0 to 19 Torbay health visiting team and takes place every Monday, 9:30am-11:00am.

    Little Explorers

    The Barn, Brixham Enterprise Estate, Rea Barn, Brixham, TQ5 9DF

    The themes of the group during term times will change weekly, with this order being followed:
    1. Exploratory Play
    2. Physical Fun
    3. Messy Play
    4. Explore a Story
    5. Yoga

    No need to book, just drop in.

    This session is aimed at children aged 1 and over.

    During the school holidays, we will run one these sessions within the community.

      What is PEEP?

      Peep supports all parents and carers with children from pregnancy to school, in encouraging their child’s learning and development. You can make a real difference just by talking, playing, singing and sharing books together. Come along – you can your baby or child can make friends, share ideas and activities, and have fun…

      In the group you will get

      • a warm welcome and meet other parents and children
      • tips and activity ideas for things to do in the group and at home
      • singing and stories
      • tips on supporting your child’s learning

      They’re all free or low-cost, and easy to fit into day-to-day life, and they’ll all help your baby or child’s learning.

      The Windmill Centre, Pendennis Road, Torquay, TQ2 7QR

      When:

      Every Wednesday, 10am – 12pm.

      Bounce and Rhyme

      Bounce & Rhyme Wednesdays 11am at Torquay Library. A free event which encourages parents, grandparents, carers and guardians to meet at the library and spend time with others. Babies and adults join in with singing favourite nursery rhymes, using language and musical instruments plus sensory toys to help with their development.

      Free Breastfeeding Masterclass in Torquay and Paignton

      Join our free breastfeeding masterclass in Torquay and Paignton. Learn how to breastfeed, get support, and ask questions in a relaxed, friendly session for new parents and families. This warm and welcoming session is led by your local Health Visiting Team and is perfect for anyone expecting a baby or supporting someone who is.

      Whether you’re a first-time parent or have breastfed before, this class will help you feel more confident and supported. Partners, family, and friends are all welcome!

      What you’ll learn

      • How breastfeeding works and why it’s good for you and your baby
      • Tips to help you build a healthy milk supply
      • Comfortable positions and how to help your baby latch
      • How to know if your baby is getting enough milk
      • Where to find local breastfeeding support in Torbay
