A TENS machine can help with:

• Pain relief from back pain from 37 weeks gestation.
• Pain relief from Braxton hick’s contractions.
• Pain relief from contractions whilst in established labour.
• A reduction in a medical intervention during labour.

Each Family Hub can loan out TENS machines. They cost £10 per hire with £10 refundable deposit. They are free to hire for families on a low income. You can hire them if you are an expectant mother who is more than 37 weeks (about 8 and a half months) pregnant.

You will need to complete a registration and liability form before each hire. The liability form covers non-returned or damaged TENS machines.
