Torbay Small Steps Group

    The Beehive Family Hub, Bishops Place, Paignton, TQ3 3DZ

    The Torbay Portage Service would like to offer parents and their pre-school children with additional needs an opportunity to attend a small parent and child group. It will take place each week and will be run by two Portage home visitors.

    The aims of the groups are:

    • To give parents opportunities to meet one another and the Portage Home Visitors.
    • For parents to be able to ask questions and share support ideas.
    • For children to be able to experience accessible play and learning experiences within a small group.
    • For staff members to share play and learning ideas to meet young children’s needs.

    This is a drop in Well Baby clinic run by our 0 to 19 Torbay health visiting team and takes place every Monday, 9:30am-11:00am.

      Would you like more information on when and how to start your baby on solid food? If so, come along to one of our drop in information sessions held each month at our Feed and Nurture Groups. A Community Nursery Nurse will be there with resources and to talk through the process. Please come along If you have any questions or worries about starting solids.

      No need to book – just turn up!

        The themes of the group during term times will change weekly, with this order being followed:
        1. Exploratory Play
        2. Physical Fun
        3. Messy Play
        4. Explore a Story
        5. Yoga

        No need to book, just drop in.

        This session is aimed at children aged 1 and over.

        During the school holidays, we will run one these sessions within the community.

          What is PEEP?

          Peep supports all parents and carers with children from pregnancy to school, in encouraging their child’s learning and development. You can make a real difference just by talking, playing, singing and sharing books together. Come along – you can your baby or child can make friends, share ideas and activities, and have fun…

          In the group you will get

          • a warm welcome and meet other parents and children
          • tips and activity ideas for things to do in the group and at home
          • singing and stories
          • tips on supporting your child’s learning

          They’re all free or low-cost, and easy to fit into day-to-day life, and they’ll all help your baby or child’s learning.

          When:

          Every Wednesday, 10am – 12pm.
