Torbay has been chose to host the South West leg of the UK’s biggest suicide prevention initiative!

It is a charity event aimes at promoting better mental health across the bay and raises awareness of the impact of suicide.

The event will run on Tuesday 20th September 2025 and will involve around 100 baton bearers participating in a relay walk across Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. Various wellbeing events will be held along the route, ending with the BIG show of hope!

Torbay has a significantly higher average of residents impacted by suicide (estimated 2,700 local residents) and the Torbay Baton of Hope aims to bring that figure down.
