ROC Creative is the South West’s most exciting arts, media and education project. It is a part of the work of ROC, a registered charity providing opportunities and support for adults with learning disabilities. ROC Creative works in Torbay and Exeter and is staffed by specialist practitioners with a wide range of arts interests and professional experience.
ROC Creative currently works in areas as diverse as art, drama, dance, textiles, sculptures, costume design, mixed-media, photography, jewellery making, video and media production, digital art, animation, samba, music technology and digital storytelling. From individual art projects to major collaborative theatre performances, ROC Creative provides and environment where people can express themselves artistically whatever their abilities or disabilities.

FARMS
Lower Sharpham Barton Farm is set in a stunning location in the hills above Totnes. The farm offers opportunities to learn and develop farming and agricultural skills, as well as wood and metal work classes.

CREATIVE
ROC Creative operates in Paignton and Honiton. We aim to help people develop confidence, self-worth and new skills through drama, dance, music, pottery, visual art and textiles, photography, samba band, social skilling, new friendships, performance opportunities, and developing inclusiveness through exhibitions.

ASPECTS
Aspects is in the heart of the community with a dual shop front window onto the high street. We offer a range of services including a training kitchen to aid independence, arts and crafts to produce products for the shop, and a computer suite to develop IT skills and facilitate person centred planning.
We aim to improve communication skills for each individual and offer outreach work in the form of community projects including gardening and walking groups, a can crushing project and a sensory garden. We have shifted away from a traditional day service environment to one where personal choice and and service flexibility are paramount.

ACTIVE
We aim to help people establish a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle to build the confidence of each individual. Our overall focus is on fitness, nutrition, sport and improving general health through exercise and enjoyment of inclusivity. We also offer opportunities for accredited learning.

EDUCATION
ROC’s Life Skills College supports people to access facilities in their chosen community, through Devon and Cornwall, and develop life skills. The college is available for those 16 years and older who have just left school. We help every student to learn and develop their confidence with house hold tasks and accessing their local community.
ROC has achieved Independent Specialist Provider status, which means that we can apply to the Education Funding Agency (EFA) for your learning and development.

ACCOMMODATION

We actively promote equality and diversity, both in our staff and in the care and support we give others.
Residential Care
We run three residential care homes across Devon, providing support for people with a learning and/or physical disability. We support people to be as independent as they wish to or can be. We provide opportunities to join in with activities, to go on holidays, and to participate in accredited learning through ROC’s Life Skills College.
Supported Living
We work on the principle that people with learning disabilities have the same fundamental rights as anyone else in society, which includes the right decide
where to live, how they are supported, and develop and make informed choices about their lives. We support people to live independently in their own homes, either on their own or with house mates. This is usually through privately rented accommodation. We work with each person to determine how much support they will want or need, and work with them to understand where and how they want to live.
EMPLOYMENT
We support people to prepare for work, engage in work and sustain work. The Work-to-Work Awards scheme is designed to set steps, milestones and goals for the future, in four stages: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
