Hyperspace Paignton is a coffee shop with a children’s playroom. Larger than many play cafes, we aim to educate and entertain. A safe calm place for parents and carers and a fun place for your little ones to explore.
Our sessions feature access to the playroom for you and your little ones, as well as several table-top ‘play planets’ for you and your little ones to enjoy. We encourage adults and children to interact and play together. These sessions are an excellent opportunity for children to meet other children and for adults to interact and share parenting experiences. Studies show the importance of social skill development at this early stage. Our equipment has been designed to support skills and social development in young children through play. In addition, we encourage social interaction between our customers for their own wellbeing.
We change the table play equipment regularly. We also change features in our playroom regularly.
The session lasts up to one fun-filled hour. Each child will get a drink as part of the admission. Booking is advisable, but we do our best to accommodate walk-in too (book your session to avoid disappointment).

When: Open everyday except Wednesday, hourly sessions are bookable online.
Cost: £2.50 for children, £2 for accompanying adults, babies under 1 go free when with another paying child
Age suitability: These sessions are intended for children five years and under. Whilst we welcome babies, we have limited play facilities for children not yet able to stand. Nintendo Switch & Mario Karts available for those 6 years +.
Referral required: No, however open to accepting referrals for disadvantaged groups. If you are a healthcare or social services professional, please call to discuss. We aim to enable all children the opportunity to learn and play.
Wheelchair access: Yes, we have level access to our playroom.
Special needs: We welcome all. we will do our best to accommodate specific needs.
Dietary needs: We are allergen aware and offer milk alternatives (Oat and Pea). Our slush & shakes are sugar free.
