Remember, not all children develop at the same rate but during this time I will:

• Listen to information, work out which elements are key
• Seek clarification when they haven’t understood
• Infer meaning and make predictions
• Use a range of words related to time and measurements
• Use a range of verbs to express their thoughts
• Use complex sentences to communicate in different ways
• Understand the interests of the listener
• Use language for different reasons
