During pregnancy, your body will go through many changes as your baby grows. You may experience morning sickness, fatigue, and other symptoms. It’s important to get regular prenatal care to ensure a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
Your midwife will get in touch with your health visiting team and let them know you’re expecting a baby.
Between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy you will be sent a letter explaining how to access your antenatal support and visit you at home to discuss the arrival of your new baby and offer additional support. There are many ways to prepare for childbirth, including taking childbirth classes, creating a birth plan, and practising relaxation techniques. It’s also important to have a support system in place, whether that’s a partner, family member, or doula.
