DESCRIPTION:Kinship Care Week (7th October – 13th October) is an opportun
 ity to celebrate the incredible role that kinship carers play in children
 ’s lives and society.\n\nWe know how hard life can be for kinship carers
 . When kinship carers step in to raise a child of a relative or close frie
 nd so much is thrown at them. But we’ve seen the amazing things they’r
 e capable of.\n\nThis year\, the theme of Kinship Care Week is #ThisIsKins
 hipCare. It’s an important time to help everyone understand what kinship
  care is. Anyone at anytime could become a kinship carer – stepping up t
 o raise the child of a family member or friend.\n\nBut it’s not easy tak
 ing on a child who has had a difficult start in life when you are not prep
 ared for it. So many kinship and the many challenges they continue to face
  go unrecognised.\n\nSo this year\, let’s share #ThisIsKinshipCare so we
  can raise awareness about kinship care and what life is like for kinship 
 families.\n\nEach and every kinship family has a unique story based on bot
 h their happy memories\, as well as the challenging experiences. Both side
 s to their story need to be told\, heard and shared to understand the real
 ity of being a kinship carer.\n\nThis Kinship Care Week\, we are recognisi
